Safeguarding Nature and Ecological Continuity<\/span><\/h4>\n

The Sougland threshold is a construction on the Gland River, which used to provide the driving energy for Fonderies de Sougland. At the beginning of 2011, Fonderies Sougland, who own the dam, envisaged a project to dismantle the construction, which is currently unused.<\/span><\/p>\n

After discussions with all parties involved, the project was launched. These works, which lasted for three years were led by the <\/span>Syndicats Intercommunal pour la Gestion du Bassin Versant de l\u2019Oise Amont<\/i><\/span> (Intercommunal Union for Managing the Upper Oise Catchment Basin). It is 100% financed by the <\/span>Agence de L\u2019Eau Seine Normandie<\/i><\/span> (Seine-Normandy Water Agency).<\/span><\/p>\n

The aim? Ensure ecological continuity by the free circulation of aquatic species, guarantee the natural transport of sediment along the water course from upstream to downstream, and thus allow fish, insects and crustaceans to move around, reproduce, feed, rest and be protected.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n
